With Essentielle 20x30, Wienerberger, through its Terreal brand, is launching a new flat tile designed to reconcile compliance with architectural codes with cost control. Manufactured at the Bavent site, in Calvados, this 20 x 30 cm tile is positioned as a cost-effective alternative to the traditional flat tile, for both new construction and renovation. While its appearance remains very close to that of a classic 17 x 27 cm flat tile, Essentielle 20x30 significantly reduces the number of units needed for installation, requiring only 45 tiles per square meter, around 20 fewer units than a traditional roof. According to the manufacturer, this optimization translates into an average saving of 13% on the supplied-and-installed cost, while also making handling easier and speeding up installation. Designed to meet the requirements of markets subject to architectural or regulatory constraints, particularly in areas where local zoning plans (PLU) require flat tiles, this new product can also be used as cladding. Manufactured locally, it is part of Terreal's "Estampe régionale" approach, aimed at promoting local craftsmanship and preserving the architectural identity of local areas. Essentielle 20x30 is available in two colors, Aurore (photo) and Loire Flammé, inspired by the traditional tones of regional roofs.
