An award upholding the French tradition of construction
Created in 2013 by Ateliers d'art de France and the VMF association (Vieilles Maisons françaises), the "Métiers d'art & Patrimoine bâti" prize rewards, every year, a craftsperson, a company or an organization committed to passing on or promoting skills linked to built heritage. Carrying a prize of €10,000, this award highlights exemplary projects, whether involving the creation or takeover of a business, the preservation of a rare skill, or the development of an innovation that respects artisanal traditions. It thus recognizes those who help keep alive the artisanal trades essential to the restoration, conservation and enhancement of architectural heritage. Presented each year as part of the Salon international du patrimoine culturel in Paris, the VMF-AAF prize has become a reference point in the world of fine craftsmanship. It embodies the shared commitment of the two founding institutions to support the continuity of workshops, true places of transmission and creation, that safeguard heritage essential to French building tradition.
