The Fédération des Distributeurs de Matériaux de Construction (FDMC) has become the sole representative employers’ organization under the national collective agreement for the construction materials trade (IDCC 3216). This official recognition crowns several years of commitment aimed at consolidating a strong contractual framework, now extended to timber distribution, which was incorporated into the agreement earlier this year. Representing 4,352 companies and 86,000 employees, the FDMC positions itself as the leading voice for generalist, specialist, and multi-specialist distributors (timber, panels, public works materials, tiling, sanitary equipment, roofing, etc.). Its role is to defend the interests of the profession, support active social dialogue, and accompany the evolution of distribution trades in a rapidly changing sector. Present across the entire country through its 12 regional unions, the Federation operates at the heart of the construction supply chain to promote skills and ensure a modern contractual framework adapted to on-the-ground realities.
