Bluetek, a specialist in rooflight daylighting and natural smoke extraction, is expanding its range of roof lanterns with Optilux, a new thermosensitive infill capable of automatically adapting its performance to weather conditions. Designed for industrial, commercial, educational buildings as well as shared residential housing, this innovation aims to reconcile natural light intake, summer comfort and energy performance. Based on thermochromic technology, Optilux naturally changes its behavior according to outdoor temperature. Below 23°C, the infill remains transparent to maximize light and solar gain, providing up to 55% more natural light compared to its opalescent state. Above that threshold, it becomes diffusing and reduces summer heat gain by up to 45%, thereby limiting the risk of overheating and glare. This fully passive system requires no electrical power supply, no specific control, and no particular maintenance. With a thermal Ut coefficient of 1.9 W/m².K and performance suited to RE2020 requirements, Optilux helps improve the regulatory indicators linked to energy needs and summer comfort.
